Carolyn has the perfect house for Christmas. It looks like an old English cottage, and the beautiful details of the home have remained unchanged since it was built in 1930. It's a Highland Park gem that shines especially at Christmas. Carolyn lovingly cooks, bakes and decorates, filling her home with Christmas Spirit.
A German kugel ornament hangs from one the original, wrought iron wall sconces. Highland Park builders carefully chose fixtures like this to evoke the times and places that inspired period revival architecture.
Carolyn displays her biggest Christmas tree in the sun room.
She fills her tree with family heirloom ornaments, and other decorations from her travels around the world.
Some ornaments are more unusual than others!
Santa says, "Look at this fantastic plaster job!"
Carolyn puts a smaller tree upstairs. It's filled with treasures and curiosities.
The original Elf on a Shelf. He's watching, so be good for goodness sake!
Thank you for looking, and thanks to Carolyn for allowing me to photograph her wonderful decorations and home. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
